I knew this wedding would be nothing short of amazing and FULL of style. Melissa is a long time friend (and amazing hair colorist) and when she asked whether I’d like to shoot or attend the wedding, you bet I didn’t waste a second saying shoot it. A cacti-loving gal like me, Melissa knew she wanted to get married in the desert. So it only made sense to have their modern boho wedding at The Paseo venue in Apache Junction.

This may quite possibly be one of my favorite venues in the valley. With a ceremony that overlooks the Superstition Mountains, your guests are bound to be speechless when they arrive. The desert charm is there all around you with a huge modern barn to host your reception. Once the sun is setting and it is time for your bridal portraits, we can sneak off to the saguaros and get those epic golden hour photos you’ve always dreamed of. That’s my kind of wedding right there.

Tips from the Bride

What is one thing you think is necessary for your wedding day?

Absolutely have a coordinator! We were so lucky to have one with our venue to set up everything for us the day of, and make sure every vendor knew what to do/where to go. I honestly enjoyed the day without worrying once how it would look when we arrived.

Valuable piece of advice for other couples?

Do it your way. How you both want it. We didn’t like floral arches- so opted for a neon sign in the arch. They had never done it before and weren’t sure how it would look, but we wanted it and guess what? IT WAS AMAZING. and one of our most favorite things. We had a black wedding cake, and I wore boots with my dress. Because why not. It was absolutely us to a T and I could never imagine it any other way.
(I also whole heartedly agree with this piece of advice! Be authentic and true to yourself and you two as a couple for your wedding day!)
