Melissa is a long time high school friend of mine, and she also happens to be my hairstylist! I was so excited to capture her and Danny, because their connection is just so strong and they are some of the greatest people ever. This session was so much fun because they make such great company! You can always count me in for shooting in the beautiful Arizona desert, so when Melissa asked me if we could take her engagement photos there it was an immediate YES. We decided on a Boyce Thompson Arboretum engagement session because of it’s desert vibe. The surrounding cactus and desert plants were stunning and made for the perfect desert garden location for their photos. Melissa and Danny wanted warm and dreamy desert portraits to end the evening, and that’s exactly what they got!

These two chose the perfect outfits for their session. As a photographer, I am always recommending colors, textures, and patterns that go well together for my clients who are in need of inspiration. If you are unsure of what to wear for your engagement or couples session, take notes! Melissa and Danny went with neutrals – black, white, cream, and denim. They decided to stick with solids instead of a pattern, which coordinated perfectly! My pro tip is that if you choose to wear clothing with a pattern or print, it should be simple and non-distracting. If one person is wearing a pattern, the other person should stick with a solid color so patterns don’t clash. Hats are also a FANTASTIC accessory, I love when couples bring different elements to their outfits to add interest and variety. Basically, Melissa and Danny’s style is on point and they rocked their session! How adorable are they?
