Festive Chic Wedding at Regency Garden // Lydia + Jordan

I loved everything about capturing Lydia and Jordan’s wedding at Regency Garden, it was everything I could have imagined and more. They had a big vision for their wedding day and wanted it to be a huge party. It sure was! Their reception went until midnight and everyone partied all night long. The highlight of the night was when the bride fell over on the dance floor during the reception but laughed it off and kept on dancing until the night was over.

Each and every detail from their day was so special. From signature cocktails named after their pups, to the beer cart, to a grand entrance to their reception New Orleans style.

Here are some words from the happy couple!

How (or why) did you choose your wedding venue(s)/location?

We wanted a beautiful, but intimate outside space. We loved that it was family owned and that the owner actually used to coordinate all of the large Discount Tire events (where Jordan is a manager). It felt kind of destined! And honestly, it was the only venue we could have over 100 people, a live band, and go until midnight hahaha!

What was your favorite part of the day?

Everything!

Seeing each other for the first time during the ceremony. The grand entrance was so epic. And we loved all of the dancing that everyone did! We really just wanted everyone to have an epic time.

Is there anything you wish you could’ve changed?

Honestly…no. It was perfect. It felt like it was a dream and that it didn’t really happen. But it did!!! I think one thing we wish we would have done is take a moment alone to look out at everyone having fun. We took a couple of moments, but in private and I wish we had just stepped back together. We can’t wait to relive the day through pictures and video.

What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples?

Everyone told us the wedding day would go by fast. We didn’t feel that it went by fast but that it didn’t feel real. Like you were walking around in a dream like state. Nothing else mattered as soon as Lydia rounded the corner and we saw each other. All of the details, planning, colors, if the favors had the right sign….literally did not care.

We also made a pact to not be separated during the wedding and let people carry us away in different directions. It is inevitable to happen through the night, but It was great to have it on our mind so we would immediately get back to each other.

At the end of the day, everyone will tell you a lot of advice about your wedding day and honestly, most of it will be true. Listen up and know that. And know that it is a very, very special day that will not go as planned, but will be more incredible than you can imagine.

What was your favorite part of the planning process?

Getting to know the vendors and gaining friends was the absolute best part. And even seeing how some of our existing friends came together to make everything so special and personal is something we will never forget.

Naturally, we liked eating ALL of the food and cake. (Just pretend that you “can’t decide” and need another taste.)

But, of course, it was also great seeing everything come together and realizing that after all of that work…we didn’t even care on the day. It was a magical feeling.
