It is no secret that Arizona is the place for a Spring or Fall destination wedding at a gorgeous place like The Scott Resort wedding venue. Here we are known for our cacti, hiking trails, and generally neutral weather. There are many places to get married here in Arizona, each with their own unique style, but I think The Scott Resort takes the trophy for a midcentury styled gem.
Not only is The Scott Resort wedding venue (or spa!) a perfect place for a uniquely styled wedding, it is also in a great general location for guests traveling from out of town. Not only do you get to show off the beauty of the Arizonan desert to your guests, but give them the weekend getaway experience they did not know they were yearning for.
In this post I will go over tips, perks, and all sorts of gorgeous photos for a wedding at The Scott Resort.
Venue: The Scott Resort

That entrance alone to The Scott Resort grabs your attention and BECKONS you to come on in and see how cute the rest of this place could be. Get your camera ready, your Instagram and Tik Tok friends back home are going to be jealous. Down to the very finite details The Scott Resort has been designed with guests comfortability and enjoyment in mind. From the bikes you can borrow for a cruise around Old Town to the funky Canal Club bar where you can grab a delicious bevy and kick back.
As mentioned before, The Scott Resort is located in the heart of Scottsdale. You are just a couple miles away from Old Town where the nightlife is lively. Tasty restaurants line the few blocks of Old Town so you will never come up short with something to eat. One of my personal favorite places is Maple and Ash, located just across the street from Scottsdale mall. If you’re looking for something a little fancy – this is it. It is a must especially if there is a birthday celebration as you’ll receive a personalized menu. Scottsdale mall is also quite literally, kiddie corner to The Scott Resort as well.
Circling back around to the main reason you are here – a wedding at The Scott Resort. You wanted something unique, artistic, but modern all at the same time. Well, this is the place to be. Getting ready in one of their suites, you have the opportunity to overlook the pool but still stay tucked back from the rest of the big events. The rooms at The Scott Resort are lush, comfortable, and of course perfectly decorated for an upscale vibe. There is plenty of space for bridal party members to lounge and get ready for the big wedding day.
The Scott Resort property is large but it feels intimate with all the lush trees and grass areas. It makes for a perfect photo opportunity to tuck away into corners for first looks or any pre ceremony photos. This bride chose to do a first look with her dad and read a handwritten letter of her love and appreciation. It truly was so heartwarming. The bride and groom opted out of a first look, so it was perfect that The Scott Resort has little quiet pockets to photograph all these intimate moments for your wedding.
Cassidy and Jacob went the route of a black tie only event for their wedding at The Scott Resort. New Years Eve, all black with a little glam, and the midcentury modern design of the property set the stage for this stunning wedding. Cassidy said they were drawn to the unique look of The Scott Resort for their wedding and loved how their guests could easily stay on the property without extra travel. Their guests were able to make a weekend out of it, enjoying the pool, nearby restaurants, and bar for a late night drink.
Cassidy and Jacob utilized the Laguna Lawn at for their Scott Resort wedding. At the head of the aisle you will find an arched brick wall painted in white. It paired up perfectly with their black and white NYE Wedding theme.
A unique take to their ceremony – the officiant stood at the back of the aisle behind the guests. I loved how these two stood up there alone with their bridal party still flanked on each side as traditionally seen. It made it quite easy for a clear shot of the first kiss without any figure behind them.
Again, The Scott Resort knocks it out of the park for portraits. Every corner you turn there’s a gorgeous area to take photos. One of my personal favorites was using The Canal Club bar area (inside and outside) for a unique look with the neon sign! If more desert style photos are not really your thing, the resorts property is perfect as it almost gives off a Palm Springs/California vibe.
If there is one thing that you can do for your wedding – it would be make it true to YOUR style as a couple. Cassidy and Jacob are both heavily tattooed and wanted to included that edgy style into their New Years Eve wedding. Even down to having their own tattoo booth at the reception for their guests to enjoy. From the traditional style typography on their table numbers and menus, to the black, white and gold, decor – it was all them. The Scott Resort’s Heritage Ballroom was the perfect space for the decor to take life and create exactly the look they wanted.
Finally to wrap up the evening we popped out for a handful more photos around the property (even in the womens restroom – LOOK AT THAT WALLPAPER!!). It was the most perfect way to wrap up the year with their New Years Eve wedding.
